About us
HÜBNER produced the first folding canopies for passenger boarding bridges in 1971. Since then, the family-owned company has delivered more than 5,000 of these high-performance units. What makes them so special is that they can flexibly adjust to nearly every sort of commercial aircraft – from small regional planes to the jumbo Airbus A380. The patented HÜBNER kinematic system allows for gap-free docking of the passenger boarding bridge to the aircraft. Elastic bumpers provide an optimal seal between the folding canopy and the fuselage, protecting passengers against any type of weather that might be encountered.

HÜBNER has 50 years’ experience in developing canopy systems. Besides the folding bellows a patented kinematic system with drive unit completes the canopy system. By this interaction, a best sealing will be achieved: minimum contact pressure to the fuselage and protection against weather.The canopy system will be deployed by gas pressure springs to counterbalance the vertical movements of the aircraft during boarding and disembarking.
All common types of aircraft from small regional aircrafts up to A 380 are covered.
HÜBNER products are characterized by high quality and allow a long service life with high availability, in addition, the system is maintenance-free.
The canopy system can be used for OEM or directly provided for refurbishment. HÜBNER also offers solutions to replace third-party products to cover all types of PBB.
Systems for passenger stairs is also available.

Passenger Boarding Bridge Interface (PBBI)
The PBB will be stopped by the drive unit with safety distance to the aircraft avoiding any contact and therefore damages to the fuselage.
Driven by gas pressure springs the flexible floor extension will be pushed out. Only a minimum pressure will be applied to the fuselage.
PBBI is the most safest and comfortable floor for a bridgehead.
Hinged bumper for passenger boarding bridges
The Hübner hinged bumper makes it possible to have a larger (and safer) distance between sensitive sensor equipment located in the airplane fuselage and the floor bumper of the passenger boarding bridge. This gives more clearance during docking and reduces the risk of damage.
